The Story So Far

God is faithful. God is Good.

When we started Ovation Worship, we determined to create an outreach from of our church’s (Cornerstone Church of Midwest City, OK) sole purpose is to connect people with the presence of God on a daily basis. This is a very lofty but important goal, especially during this time of pandemics, bizarre weather, political unrest, etc. People need the presence of the Lord.

The Holy Spirit was sporadically referred to as the “Balm in Gilead”. This means that He was the spiritual medicine that was needed at that moment to heal the nation of Israel. In our dispensation, we have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us. However, when we take the time to seek him, worship Him, and grow our spirit man inside He shows up and truly acts as that Spiritual medicine; a supernatural dose of peace, joy, and strength to make it through every storm. In 1977, John Newton (the man who penned the famous song “Amazing Grace”) wrote another hymn called “A sinner’s cure”. The chorus went like this:

There is balm in Gilead,

To make the wounded whole;

There's power enough in heaven,

To cure a sin-sick soul.

So, our desire has been to create content that individuals can connect with both inside and outside their church, on the job, on YouTube, on Spotify, etc. We want to immediately connect people with the presence of God and the truth of His word. Between video stats and streams, our worship Content was streamed over 100,000 times in 2020. It’s a great start to what we want to see happen this year. Our first, full album was released on February 7th, 2020. We really started to gain some momentum and then on March 19th, Covid-19 led to a nation-wide stay at home order. Suddenly a thriving nation screeched to a halt as fear gripped the hearts of many throughout our nation. We went on to release a lyric video for our song “I will not fear” in the hopes that it would speak peace to people in their hour of need.

Unfortunately, this was the final Ovation project that we were able to work on in 2020 due to the fact that we really needed to focus on our local church body. We needed to ensure that everyone was able to be effectively reached and ministered to in the homes. This brought an exceptional amount of technical upgrades so that everyone was able to have a solid streaming experience online.

Philippians 3:13 says, “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.” That is what we are determined to do this year. We are full steam ahead in writing new songs, creating new videos, and other creative content to help connect people with the presence of God on a daily basis. As of this moment, we are just weeks from the release of our first single of 2021 “Sing (Miracles Keep Happening)”. This an exciting, upbeat praise song that speaks to the power of God that can move on a situation as we lift our voice and sing His praise. “Miracles keep happening every time we lift our voice and sing.”  This song will be joined by the release of four more songs this year; each accompanied by music and lyric videos to further extend the reach of each song.  2021 is going to be an amazing year as we continue to connect people with the presence of God on a daily basis.

I started this blog post out by saying “God is Faithful. God is Good.” this is the essence of who He is, and we desire to spread this message to everyone who will listen so that they can experience the life-giving, healing power of the Holy Spirit.
